SCC softball team drops two contests last week

South Central Calhoun’s varsity softball team dropped a pair of contests last week in Twin Lakes Conference play and is now 5-10 overall with one week to go in the regular season. SCC fell to St. Mary’s of Storm Lake Thursday, June 21 in Lytton by a 4-1 final, then the following night, Southeast Valley defeated the Titans by a 14-1 final in five innings.
This week is a busy week for the Titans as the team prepares for its first round post-season contest at home next week in Lytton Monday, July 2 against Woodward-Granger. The Titans will open up this week Monday, June 25 in a non-conference contest against Emmetsburg in Lytton, SCC hosts Ar-We-Va Tuesday, June 26 and then heads to Fonda Wednesday, June 27 for its rescheduled Twin Lakes Conference contest against Newell-Fonda. On Thursday, June 28, SCC hosts Storm Lake High and then Friday, June 29, SCC will host rival East Sac County for the regular season finale.
Class 2A post-season softball action against Woodward-Granger on July 2 will be in Lytton at 7 p.m., with the winner of that contest heading to Ogden Tuesday, July 3, for a second-round contest at 7 p.m.
