SCC school board approves creation of trap shooting team, budget adjustment resolution

Despite whiteout conditions and a frigid Valentine’s Day that saw basketball games pushed back a day, the South Central Calhoun Board of Directors met in an eventful regular session on Feb. 14 at the SCC Middle School media center.
In a meeting that lasted a mere 27 minutes, t he boa rd okayed the creation of an SCC trap s h o o t i n g t e am and prepared for t he 2019- 2020 fiscal year by levying property taxes and other proposed levies ranging from Management to Instructional Suppor t a lo n g s id e Voter and Board PPELs.
After coming to order, SCC Superintendent Jeff Kruse reviewed the application to the School Budget Review Committee for Modified Supplemental Aid to create a school for students experiencing traumatic life events.
All of the teachers and associates within the district are currently or in the process of learning more about the ACEs scale and teaching resilience. The SCC principals submitted written reports for board review, including high school grades from first semester.
