SCC places fourth at 2018 TLC volleyball tournament

South Central Calhoun’s varsity volleyball team concluded the regular season Thursday, Oct. 11 at the 2018 Twin Lakes Conference Volleyball Tournament in Laurens.
The Titans (29-11) earned a quarterfinal round tournament win in three sets over Alta-Aurelia, but then fell in the semifinals in two sets to Newell-Fonda, then were upset in the third place match by Southeast Valley also in two sets. The Titans defeated Alta-Aurelia 25-22, 23-25, 15-7 in the quarterfinal round, but lost to Newell-Fonda in the semifinals 25-20, 26-24, then fell in the third place match to Southeast valley 25-18, 25-22. The 2018 Twin Lakes Conference volleyball tournament champions were the East Sac County Raiders, who defeated Newell-Fonda in three sets in the title match by the scores of 24-26, 28-26 and 15-11.
