SCC netters second at Master Blaster Tournament

The South Central Calhoun varsity volleyball team went 5-1 at its own Master Blaster Tournament in Rockwell City Saturday, Sept. 8 to place second overall. Kuemper Catholic was the tournament champions with a 6-0 record. The Titans picked up victories over East Sac County (21-18, 21-17), Kingsley-Pierson (21-15, 21-13), Harlan Community (21-19, 21-16), River Valley (21-9, 21-10) and Ridge View (22-20, 19-21, 15-13) while falling to the Knights (21-12, 21-5). Heidi Hammen led SCC in kills at the tournament with 24 while Haley Stauter had 22, Maddie Jones had 20 and Emma McKinney finished with 14.
