SCC netters beat conference foes, go 2-2 at Carroll

South Central Calhoun’s varsity volleyball team went 4-0 against conference foes last week in Twin Lakes Conference match play while closing out the week 2-2 at the 2018 Carroll High Tournament. SCC moved to 7-0 in the league and is 22-9 for the season.
The week opened up Tuesday, Sept. 11 in Rockwell City against Twin Lakes Conference rivals Sioux Central and Newell-Fonda with SCC sweeping Sioux Central 25-17, 25-13, 25-10 and the Titans would later sweep Newell-Fonda 3-0 by the scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.
Against Sioux Central, Haley Stauter led in kills with 11 while Emma McKinney led in assists with 15 while Maddie Jones had a team-high 15 digs against the Rebels. Laci Reidesel led in blocks with five.
SCC was 64-for-69 serving against Sioux Central led by Payton Steig, who was 15-for-15 with two aces.
