SCC jazz band wins Triton competition

South Central Calhoun High School’s jazz band won its division at the Triton Jazz Festival Jan. 15 and 16 at Iowa Central Community College.

More than 20 jazz bands from Class 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A high schools performed for a panel of judges, who provided clinical critiques. SCC performed in the Class 2A division.

Class 2A soloist awards went to the following SCC students: Colin Brown, Joel Wernimont, Zack Ludwig and Ryan Nicholson.
