Even though the weather cut practice times short or out completely, the South Central Calhoun Individual Speech team had a successful day at the District Individual Speech contest, held last Wednesday at Fort Dodge Senior High.
Overall, the Titans sent 12 Division I entries to state, while 11 of 14 individuals will move on to the State Individual Speech Contest, which is set for March 9 at Woodbury Central High School in Moville.
Ryan Reeves, Tate Steig, Megan Decker, Miranda Felhans, Savannah Smith, Alli Morenz, Branden Barney, Lauren Ukena, Cara Voorde, Audrey Hood and Katherine Folsom were the 11 students that will move on to the state competition.
SCC Instructional Coach Marleta Smith was pleased with her students following the district contest.
