With one more victory this Friday at home in Class 2A District 7 play, the South Central Calhoun Titans varsity football team will become the outright district champions in 2017. SCC faces rival East Sac County in Lake City Friday, Oct. 20, a contest with playoff implications for both the Titans and the Raiders in the final week of the regular season. Last Friday night at Red Oak, the Titans (6-0 district, 7-1 overall) took care of business with a 57-6 triumph Oct. 13.
“I thought our team played very well tonight,” said SCC head coach Bryan Case. “We were focused and we were hitting on all cylinders in every phase of the game. It seems like we are starting to come together at the right time of the year. We’ll enjoy this win, but then we have to put it behind us and get ready for a huge match-up with East Sac County.”
Against Red Oak, the Titans finished with 422 total yards of offense while Red Oak managed only 117 for the game. SCC scored six first half touchdowns to lead 42-0 at the half.
