Preschool classes that meet at South Central Calhoun Elementary School hosted their second-ever art show Wednesday night in the gym. Preschool teachers said art is an essential part of their daily program, noting that art promotes fine motor skills that are the keys to students becoming good writers. Art also helps with social and emotional development, teaching children ways to express themselves through their work. Teachers also noted how art can help students develop new ways to look at the world, by observing the way colors look together and how different textures look and feel.
