SCC girls earn four golds at first home track meet

South Central Calhoun’s varsity girls track team hosted the 2017 Chelsey Henkenius Early Bird Co-Ed meet Monday, March 27, in Lake City and the Titans earned four first place medals and six second-place efforts at the meet.
Earning individual first place medals were Emma McKinney in the 400 meter dash in 1 minute, 7.79 seconds, Megan Hardy in the 1,500 in 5:48.17, the 4x200 relay team of Maddie Jones, Sydney Batz, Haley Stauter and Allison Birks in 1:57.55, and the 4x100 relay team of Jessica Hicks, Keagan King, Jones and Birks in 55.01.
Second place medals went to Kim Daisy in the shot put (34-feet), Megan Hardy in the 3,000 (12:17.54), the sprint medley relay (2:01.77), the shuttle hurdle relay (1:19.76), the distance medley relay (4:54.32) and Arianna Kistler in the 400 hurdles (1:20.90).
Kaylynn Ridgely was third in the long jump and Birks captured third in the 100-meter dash.
