South Central Calhoun’s varsity boys track team placed second at the 2014 Brad Kruse Co-Ed track meet held at Manson Thursday, April 17.

The Titans finished with 118 points as they won seven events at the meet and placed second in three others. Host Manson Northwest Webster won the boys meet with a team score of 154 points.

“Our kids ran well tonight,” said SCC head boys track coach Bryan Case. “We went into the meet with the idea of putting some relays together, just to get some quality times, and we ended up with a second place overall finish. We’re hoping that a few of our events will qualify for the Drake Relays. It’s been fun to watch this team grow and we’re really looking forward to the next few weeks.”

Among the champions for the Titans included individual efforts by Jake Petzenhauser in the 400 low hurdles (55.46 seconds) and Cody Schoop in the shot put (43-feet, 11.5-inches).
