SCC board seats two new members

Kari Musselman and Darci Lightner joined the South Central Calhoun School Board May 15, replacing Ryan Hildreth and Tom Steinborn, who resigned at the April meeting.
Musselman, whose two children will be in high school next year, ran unsuccessfully against Hildreth in 2015. The two received an equal number of votes in the write-in campaign, but Hildreth’s name was drawn to win the seat representing the north part of the district.
“I look at it as an opportunity to better the education for our children,” Musselman said, when asked why she wanted to join the board.
Jason Hawkins of Rockwell City also applied for the open north seat.
