SCC’s Case honored with induction to Hall of Fame

At the halftime of the state 3A football championship in Cedar Falls earlier this month, South Central Calhoun High School football Coach Bryan Case stepped to the field.

Case, who has worked at the high school in Lake City since 1995, was inducted Nov. 15 into the Iowa Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Case led the Southern Cal Mustangs to back-to-back football championships a decade ago and has built a record of 139 wins and 45 losses in his 17 years as head coach.

SCC High School Principal Randy Martin said he admires how Case doesn’t just focus on football.

“He’s about developing young men (and teaching them about) playing by the rules,” Martin said.

The Hall of Fame honor is “good for Bryan, but more important for his program,” Martin added.
