ROAD WARRIORS

SCC baseball wins two of three road contests
Like many other baseball teams throughout Iowa, Mother Nature was not exactly kind. Rain had hampered the first two weeks of South Central Calhoun’s first two weeks of the season, forcing the Titans to cancel two contests and push back another.
Luckily, the rain did subside, and the Titans got to play baseball – except for the fact they had to hop on the yellow bus to ply their craft. Nonetheless, the Titans were able to have their home opener.
The Titans started off the stretch by falling to a late Southeast Valley surge, 6-1, on May 23 at The Ball Park in Lytton before pummeling GTRA 14-1 on May 29 in Ruthven. SCC then come up on the wrong side of a hard fought 3-0 road battle against Ogden on May 30, before rebounding with a stellar 11-3 victory over Sioux Central on May 31 in Peterson.
From this recent stretch of games, SCC moved to a 3-2 overall record and 2-0 in Twin Lakes Conference play.
Results from Monday’s home game against Manson-Northwest Webster will be reported in an upcoming edition of The Graphic-Advocate.
