O’Tool competes at 2A district boys golf meet

South Central Calhoun senior Tyler O’Tool competed at the 2017 Class 2A Boys District Golf Tournament Thursday, May 18 at Landsmeer Country Club at Orange City and finished with an 89 for the 18-hole tournament to end the season.
O’Tool had an opening nine-hole total of 48 and closed out the final nine holes with a 41. He had two pars in the front nine and added four more pars in the back nine holes of play.
Top teams advancing to the 2017 Class 2A Boys State Tournament included Sheldon with a 315 and Kuemper Catholic with a 318. Western Christian was third with a 321 while host Unity Christian was fourth with a 330.
Individual state qualifiers included Brandon Schwade of OA-BCIG with a 71 (par 71), Tyler Merley of Sheldon (75), Dylan Scheffler of East Sac County (78) and Carter Broek of Western Christian (78).
