O’Tool advances to districts, SCC fourth at sectionals

Senior Tyler O’Tool of the South Central Calhoun varsity boys golf team has advanced to the 2017 Class 2A District Boys Golf Tournament to be held Thursday, May 18, at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City. O’Tool did so by placing fourth individually at the 2017 Class 2A Sectional Golf Tournament Friday, May 12 at Emerald Hills Golf Club at Arnolds Park as he finished with an 83 on the day.
As a team, SCC placed fourth overall with a score of 357 for the 18-hole event. District team qualifiers from the meet were Sheldon with a 337 and Unity Christian with a 353. Estherville-Lincoln Central was third with a 356.
The top four individuals also advanced to the upcoming district meet at Orange City. Those individuals include Tyler Merley of Sheldon (77), Calvin Hart of Emmetsburg (82), Ryan Fedders of Unity Christian (82) and O’Tool of SCC (83).
