With the regular season winding down, the South Central Calhoun girls’ basketball team had a pair of dominant victories and a bit of a scare. Nonetheless, the Titans came out of both ends of the proverbial basketball spectrum on top.
Indeed, potential championship teams know how to win the lopsided games as much as the close games.
The No. 8-ranked (Class 2A) Titans came out of a threegame, three-day grind with a perfect 3-0 mark, topping Southeast Valley 65-27 on Thursday evening at the Southeast Valley High School Gymnasium in Gowrie, edging an upset-minded Manson-Northwest Webster squad 59-56 on Friday evening at the SCC Middle School Gym in Rockwell City.
SCC then finished the weekend with a dominant 53-18 performance against West Bend-Mallard on Saturday evening, also held at the SCC Middle School Gym in Rockwell City.
