Mother Nature has a way of testing teams and individuals, as cancellations and snow days shortened the evenly paced South Central Calhoun basketball calendar into a brutal fourgame, five-day stretch.
While the South Central Calhoun girls’ basketball team was pushed to their limits, as the No. 5-ranked (Class 2A) Titans dropped to No. 1-ranked (Class 1A) Newell-Fonda 61-49 on Friday night at the Newell-Fonda Gym in Newell, before the Titans soundly beat Sioux Central 54-43 on Saturday night at the SCC Middle School Gym in Rockwell City.
Due to their results against their Twin Lakes Conference opponents, South Central Calhoun moved to a 16-1 record, with an 9-1 mark in conference play.
