This is one where the owner can blame the dog. Then again, perhaps this is a scenario where the dog should receive some kudos, instead.
That’s the case with Jim Hirschberg and Sweet Honeymoon Winery.
The winery located off of Highway 175 near Lohrville announced its latest addition to its lineup with the “This is the Last Straw(berry)” on July 26. On the label of the sweetened Chardonnay with strawberry flavor features Gandalf, one of Hirschberg’s beloved Irish Wolfhounds.
“He’s immortalized now,” Hirschberg said of Gandalf’s presence on the bottle of Sweet Honeymoon Winery newest line of wine. “I was inspired by a book named The Dog Made Me Buy It, which talks about historical advertising with dogs. We love our dogs, and the label is very true to life. It’s a personal experience.”
Going along with the theme of relationships and marriage, Sweet Honeymoon Winery has released wines such as “I Promise I’ll Save You Some!” and “It’s Wine:30!” that relay the ups and downs of love and life itself.
“With our latest wine, we incorporated the dog – who can run in with muddy paws – and the relationship situations that people can attest to,” Hirschberg said.
