It was a record-setting effort for South Central Calhoun junior Spencer Moon at the 2017 Southeast Valley Invitational cross country meet held Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Gowrie Country Club in Gowrie.
Moon, who won the varsity boys race at the meet in a time of 16 minutes, 44.33 seconds, set the course and meet record with his effort. Overall, the Titans boys placed third as a team with 87 points while the SCC girls finished second overall in the team standings with 78 points. Winning the boys team crown was Woodward Academy with 41 points while St. Edmond of Fort Dodge won the team title with 23 points in the girls competition.
“Both teams in general competed well,” said SCC head coach Brian Knapp. “However, we had some work in front of us to reach the goals we are reaching for.”
