Macke Motors uses grant to donate CPR dummies to SCC High School

South Central Calhoun High School students will find it a bit easier to practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation, thanks to a recent donation.
Macke Motors of Lake City, working with the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation, donated four CPR training units to the school.
“They had gotten this grant and thought it would be nice to offer something to the school,” nurse and health occupations teacher Lorie Otto said.
Iowa requires all high school graduates to be exposed to CPR training, though graduates are not required to be certified. Still, Otto said, many students do practice the life-saving technique in her class. Typically, she contacts other health care organizations, to borrow training dummies.
