Lohrville receives more than $16,000 from 3-Point Play program

DES MOINES — Lohrville represented the cardinal and gold of Iowa State University quite well, being one of six communities in Iowa and South Dakota to be awarded from $14,000 to $18,000 as part of Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s 3-Point Play program, according to a June 4 news release.
Lohrville, who was the top affiliate for the Cyclones through the 2018-2019 season, received $16,740 to initiate or complete community health improvement projects.
Other communities who were provided funds for their fandom by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield were Norwalk (Drake University), Carlisle (University of Iowa) and Hudson (University of Northern Iowa). The South Dakota communities who received funds were Redfield (South Dakota State University) and Vermillion (University of South Dakota).
The overall funds granted from the 3-Point Play program was more than $93,000.
