Liger Legionaries, hello!
It has felt like everything has slowed down just a bit, hasn’t it? We’ve nearly hit the “dog days of summer,” and the summer sports season had come to a close a few weeks ago. Heck, it’s almost too quiet for my liking.
Not that I’m wishing for “thunderbolts and lightning – very, very frightening me” or anything. Please excuse my insertion of Queen lyrics in there.
I mean, Bohemian Rhapsody is a classic. Either that, or I’ve seen way too reruns of Wayne’s World on my Blu-ray player.
This past week, there were no city council meetings and no big events coming down the pipe next weekend. There were no invested interests elsewhere, such as running over to the Iowa Girls’ High School State Softball Tournament to catch the Ogden softball team for our sister publication over in Boone County.
Luckily, we have our friendly neighborhood Board of Supervisors and Rockwell City held its 10th annual Sweet Corn Daze. Thank you for the content, bee tee dub.
So, I promised a while back to provide thoughts on the 60th annual Western Days, the Expo and a few other events, didn’t I? It’s time to live up to that promise.
Let’s go.
