Lake City council formally approves Sewer Rate Ordinance

By:
Tyler Anderson

The revised version Ordinance #390, which deals with new sewer rates, was the main highlight of the latest City Council of Lake City meeting, held on August 5 at the Council Chambers of City Hall in Lake City.
The council approved the second reading of the new ordinance, and waived the third reading. Ordinance 390 deals with the changes brought on due to the presence of the Topeka Shiner, a species of minnow that resides in nearby Lake Creek.
Details of the new ordinance are available in the legals section of The Graphic-Advocate and also available upon request at City Hall in Lake City.
The council also approved a building permit for a shed and received updates on the city tennis courts, the yearly audit and a proposal from Mediacom in the 34-minute meeting.
