As the countdown toward the 60th annual Western Days celebration has come down to mere days, the City Council of Lake City made the move to close Washington Street from Center Street to Illinois Street on June 28 for the street dance on the City Square among other highlights of their latest meeting, held on June 4 at the City Hall Chambers.
Along with accommodating for annual street dance, the 35-minute meeting also consisted of holding a public hearing to write a grant to purchase a new vehicle for the Lake City Police Department, the approved use of the City Square for the Farmer’s Market and a new resolution for salaries for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
