Lake City’s community Thanksgiving meal to return this year

A Lake City tradition will return this November.
Starla and Doug Winter initiated the community Thanksgiving meal in 2005, and the midday meal, free to the community and open to everyone, ran through 2013.
This year, Linda and Jim Luhring have stepped in to help Starla Winter revive the community outreach, which served upwards of 150 people at its peak.
Mayor Tyler Holm, who is helping with the planning, said he sees great value in the event.
“It means a lot to me,” Holm said. “I have a very strong love for this town. … It’s definitely a great thing that we’re bringing it back.”
