Since their founding in 1882, the Knights of Columbus has been a pronounced presence in local and global charity. Since its creation in 1987, Opportunity Living has provided a home and family for people with special needs.
Together, they aim to help people live their lives the best they can.
To provide help to their fellow humanity, the Knights of Columbus Council #13507 provided a big helping hand to the facility located on the eastern outskirts of Lake City.
The local council donated a check of $5,000 to Opportunity Living, in a small ceremony held on May 22 at the Opportunity Living facility in Lake City, to assist the facility into acquiring another wheelchair van to their fleet of two vehicles.
Opportunity Living was just one of 11 organizations in Iowa that received a sizable donation from the Iowa Knights of Columbus state organization.
