Jones named to IGCA all-state squad

South Central Calhoun's Maddie Jones earned more post-season basketball honors this past week as she was named to the 2018 Iowa Girls Coaches Association's all-state girls basketball second team all-state team in Class 3A.
Jones, a junior at SCC, led the Titans with 20 points per game and was first on the team in total rebounds with 138, first on the team in assists with 134 on the season and first in steals with 147.
Jones was joined on the Class 3A IGCA second team all-state squad by Jessica Musgrave of South Tama, Isabelle Gradwell of West Marshall, Maggie Phipps of North Polk, Jaedon Murphy of North Polk, Sara Faber of Clear Lake, Sierra Athen of Red Oak and Jordyn Van Maanen of Sioux Center.
First team all-IGCA selections for Class 3A for 2018 included Shannon Pisney, Ellie Friesen and Sharon Goodman of Crestwood, Lexi Toering of Sioux Center, Lexy Koudelka of Nevada, Paityn Hagberg of Cherokee, Logan Hughes of Shenandoah and Lauren Ries of Monticello. Coach of the Year for the 2017-18 season in Class 3A was Doug Sickles of Crestwood.
