Jones, Hammen, McKinney named to TLC All-Conference teams

With the 2018-19 season in the books, there were a few more honorifics for the South Central Calhoun girls’ basketball team to acquire.
Released on March 4 following the conclusion of the 2019 IGHSAU Girls State Basketball Tournament, the Twin Lakes Conference announced its All-Conference girls basketball teams, with seniors Maddie Jones and Heidi Hammen named to the First Team, followed by junior Emma McKinney being recognized as a member of the TLC’s Second Team. Jones – who will join the Northwestern College women’s basketball program in the fall – was also named to the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association’s All-State Class 2A Second Team on March 5.
Jones, the Titans’ all-time leading scorer, racked up 424 points and averaged 20.2 points per contest during the 2018-19 campaign. Jones pulled down 111 rebounds and averaged 5.3 boards per outing, and also tallied 100 assists, 95 steals and six blocks.
