I-Smile clinic coming to Calhoun County

A statewide dental program is bringing a free clinic to Calhoun County later this month.
The I-Smile dental program clinic is set for July 21 and 22 at the Calhoun County Public Health Department. Any child 6 to 18 years old, with or without dental insurance, can come for free dental sealant, Webster County Health Department I-Smile Coordinator Angie Halfwassen said.
“Tooth decay is a silent epidemic that is common,” Halfwassen said. “Sixty percent of children 15 and under experience tooth decay, with an estimated 51.7 million lost hours of school time nationally.”
That time is spent dealing with tooth decay, she said.
