Goodman, McAlister win titles at Doug Wood

Both Brody Goodman and Chase McAlister of South Central Calhoun earned championships at the 2017 Doug Wood Invitational hosted by Manson Northwest Webster in Manson. Overall, the Titans varsity wrestling team placed third overall at the meet with 147.5 points while host Manson Northwest Webster was first with 197.5 and OA-BCIG was second with 175.
Goodman improved to 6-0 overall as he defeated Lance Else of Ridge View by a 10-4 decision in the championship match at 160 pounds. Goodman was 4-0 on the day with two wins by fall in the first two rounds and a victory over Austin Berger of MNW by a 20-5 technical fall in the semifinal round.
McAlister also has started the 2017-18 at 6-0 after going 4-0 at the tournament as he defeated Garret Bruce of East Sac County 6-5 in the championship match at 152 pounds. McAlister earned his three other victories on the day by fall.
Placing second for the Titans at Manson was Jordan Khommanyvong at 132 and Tanner Fistler at 145.
