Tyler Fistler was leaning toward a career in physical therapy.
“At first, I always knew I wanted to go into the medical field,” Fistler said in an interview last month at the Fistler Chiropractic office in Rockwell City, within the Nick Hildreth Memorial Clinic.
Sports injuries led to recurring headaches, and those brought him to a chiropractor.
“I decided this is what I wanted to do,” he said.
He and his wife, Miranda, opened Fistler Chiropractic in October 2017, accomplishing a big goal they had set for themselves, to return to the town where they grew up and raise their daughter, Nora, close to her grandparents.
“I had a lot of support from the community,” Tyler Fistler said. “I loved the community.”
Getting credentials set up, particularly those that allow the office to accept different insurance providers, took quite a while, the Fistlers said, and was one of the biggest challenges of opening their own business. They said they were lucky to learn Kylie Hildreth was opening the clinic and that she was looking for other medical practitioners to operate within the space. Otherwise, finding an accessible office space in Rockwell City would have been an even bigger challenge, Tyler Fistler said.
