The Twin Lakes Book Nooks will open next spring, a project organizer said last week at the dedication of what will be one of the first lending library sites at the north lake.
The group, working with Calhoun County Conservation, selected five sites for the book boxes, from which lake residents may borrow and return books, and possibly games and puzzles, Shawn Russell said during a dedication Sept. 2.
Russell and other volunteers convinced the Twin Lakes Marina to allow its building to be a book donation site, and volunteers are ready to begin maintaining the book boxes, once they are put in place next spring. Russell said North Central Correctional Facility’s woodworking group will make the boxes, based on a design Russell and other volunteers created.
