Allison Streufert said it was just a coincidence that the Sept. 27 story time at the Lake City Public Library focused on apples and harvest on the day Farm Credit Services of America brought 55 new agriculture-themed books.
The titles ranged from picture books for young children to nonfiction for older children.
“It’s nice to be able to fill the requests,” Streufert said. “We’ve had patrons ask for more books to explain harvest. Not everyone lives on a farm.”
Teachers in particular have asked for farming and harvest books, she said.
“This was a wonderful gift,” Streufert said. “It will be used.”
