Eric Frank, a Carroll resident who grew up in Lake City, has been a Hawkeyes fan for a long, long time.
“When I was 7 years old I sent a letter to then coach Hayden Fry,” Frank said in an email interview last week. “It took me a long time to type that letter. Hayden sent me some pictures and even wrote a letter to my teacher, Kaye Huffman.”
Now in his 30s, Frank still eats, breathes and lives the Hawkeyes. He was honored earlier this month by the Carroll Area I-Club as its Haw of the Year for his dedication to the team.
“Win or lose, he’s there, and nothing, not even a driving rainstorm, will get in his way,” club members said in announcing the award May 9.
