Two people were charged after they allegedly took a running car from near Sparky’s One Stop at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Highway 4 last week and led multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase through two counties.
Edward Eugene Goff, 39, was charged with operating a vehicle without owner’s consent and eluding law enforcement. Both charges are aggravated misdemeanors.
Samantha Jo Cline- Hoskins, 28, was charged with aiding and abetting operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent. Both defendants made their initial court appearance Thursday.
Calhoun County Sheriff Scott Anderson said the incident happened Jan. 3. Witnesses saw the two defendants leaving the gas station and head north.
“They were located and engaged (in a chase) by law enforcement in Pocahontas County,” Anderson said.
