Independence Day can be regarded as the pinnacle of summer. The image of people in their t-shirts or tank tops with the familiar Stars and Stripes, along with shorts and flip-flops all while grilling and watching fireworks is a staple of the holiday.
In Iowa, there are the usual fireworks celebrations, along with parades and other kinds of events that celebrate America’s birthday.
Lohrville has added a little wrinkle to such a day, with a little bike ride named B.R.A.L.S. (Bike Ride Around Lohrville Slowly).
Now entering its third decade, B.R.A.L.S. will keep rolling on Thursday, with registration beginning at noon at Pug’s Pub with the event kicking off at 1 p.m. Peddle bikes are preferred, but people are encouraged to also walk, skip and jump around.
